FYI

Just thought I'd let you know that the Friends of the Library, located at the main branch of the London Public Library, has a complete set of the 2019 Scott Catalogues (12 volumes) for $150.00.

In addition, the 2022-2023 schedule of meetings has been posted.

Library Addition

Due to the persistent research of Noah, a young philatelist who has been following our site for some time, we now have an excellent link to the History of Post Cards. I believe you will all find the content very informative.

Thank you Noah for your contribution to our philatelic library. Your support is much appreciated.

WANTED

Novice collectors or those planning on wading into the wonderful world of philately who may be looking to establish a solid base for their collection.

Each year I receive, on average, about a half dozen requests for information on how an individual can sell off a collection that, in most cases, has been inherited or passed down from a parent or grandparent. Many of these collections are quite large and are generally Canadian stamps but many do include world wide, British Commonwealth and United States stamps.

The value of these collections is determined primarily by the lowest realized prices of similar stamps and/or, in the case of mint blocks, plate blocks, panes and booklets, the face value of the stamps.

Although many of these collections will still be valued at a few to several thousand dollars, the sellers are only interested in a fair return on the collection and finding it a "good home".

If you have any interest in discussing the acquisition of a collection, please respond to the LPS gmail address ...... londonphilatelicsociety@gmail.com ...... attention:  Doug Buckley.
